Volunteer Research Assistant Program

Purpose:

To provide needed volunteer or research hours to college students.

To provide an introduction to research for the volunteer, under mentor oversight*.

Facilitate research studies.

Provide educational opportunities.

Provide exposure to research within Advocate.

Mission:

We strive to meet the needs of our patients, families and the community by promoting and facilitating opportunities for volunteers to participate in Research and Education.

Goal:

Our goal; is for the student to leave the program with a sense of satisfaction from participating in research with a better understanding of research in a healthcare setting.

Course credit:

Students may qualify for college credit for their participation. Please contact your institution to discuss receiving such credit. Volunteer hours are also available through the volunteer office at Christ Medical Center.

*Advocate values research volunteers and the service of providing an introduction to research with proper oversight and mentorship. For this reason research volunteers cannot be considered without a mentor within Advocate who has research projects in order to provide mentorship.
